Amazon and Apple Delay AI Assistant Updates Amid Technical Challenges ⏳

Amazon and Apple are facing setbacks in their efforts to enhance their digital assistants, Alexa and Siri, with generative AI technology. Reports indicate that Amazon plans to postpone the launch of its revamped Alexa, initially scheduled for February 26 in New York, to March or later due to delays.

Meanwhile, Apple is grappling with engineering issues and software bugs that are affecting the planned upgrades for Siri. Features expected to debut in April may now be delayed until May or beyond.

Both companies aimed to quickly introduce these updates to stay competitive against next-gen AI voice assistants like OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode and Google’s Gemini Live. However, the road ahead appears to be more challenging than anticipated.
