Volkswagen has announced plans to unveil a new entry-level electric vehicle priced at €20,000 ($21,000) in early March. The company recently showcased the initial design to its employees in Wolfsburg, Germany. While details remain under wraps, this model is part of a forthcoming lineup of small electric cars, including the ID.2all, which is set to hit dealerships in 2026 with a starting price of €25,000.
Volkswagen’s entry-level EV aims to be the most affordable option in their lineup, although it’s still uncertain if it will be available globally. Thomas Schäfer from Volkswagen described it as an “affordable, high-quality, and profitable electric Volkswagen from Europe for Europe.”
Since the launch of its ID product family in 2019, Volkswagen has sold over 1.35 million ID vehicles worldwide, including 500,000 ID.3 models last year. The brand’s latest offering is the ID.Buzz, an electric van with a nostalgic design, starting at $59,995 in the U.S. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new model!
